CanklesHave you been thinking on how to get rid of cankles? According to some training experts, there is hope for some cases of cankles. The term cankles is a combination of “calf” and “ankles”. Cankles are those legs in which there is no clear differentiation between the calf and the ankle. What you will see is a straight lower leg with no shapes or curves.

Cankles aren’t just for overweight people. There are many individuals who have cankles who are skinny and fit. So how do you get rid of cankles? Let’s take a look at some of the ways that you can do to treat your cankles.

Learn 4 Simple and Proven Ways To Get Rid Of Cankles

Cardiovascular Exercises

Weight gain is the most obvious reason for having cankles. Do some cardiovascular exercises for at least 30 minutes a day. Personally I enjoy jumping rope for 20 minutes with marching in between. Cardiovascular exercises are important in getting rid of the excess weight that surrounds the lower leg. Doing these exercises will tremendously lose more pounds all over your body including the lower legs.

Change Your Diet

Aside from doing exercises, changing your diet is something that a lot of people are having a hard time following. Include more natural and organic foods in your diet such as fruits and vegetables. Try to lessen the foods that are rich in fat, sugar and carbohydrates. A good well-balanced diet will help in losing excess weight around your ankles.

Prevent Water Retention

Water retention is another cause of the swelling in your ankles. Possible causes of water retention are standing or sitting for very long periods of time, congestive heart failure due to decreased pumping action of the heart, low protein levels in the blood, hormone changes due to pregnancy, weakening of valves in the veins and eating too much foods with sodium.

The best exercise that you could do to ease off water prevention is swimming. Swimming is also a great cardiovascular exercise. Drinking lots of water and avoiding salty foods will also help a lot. Or you could just simply put your feet up so the excess fluids can go down from your ankles.

Tone Your Calves

There are specific exercises that you can do to strengthen and tone your calves. As you calf muscles grow, it will make the area between the calf and ankle look thinner — thus eliminating your cankles.

Can flat feet make you more prone to cankles? I need to know to make from my knees to my ankles smaller so I am able to wear half chaps and knee boots for horseback riding. I have hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. I am seeing a doctor about those things. The largest half chaps and knee boots arent large enough for me.
